On Monday 25th of January, Escudo Web Software participated in the “I Mesa de Empresa y Cooperación en Educación Digital”, a Business Roundtable about Cooperation in Digital Education. The event, organised by the Spanish Agency for International Development & Cooperation (AECID), aimed to promote public-private partnerships and joint initiatives in the partner countries of the Spanish Cooperation.

Experts from the public sector and managers from some of the most innovative companies in the education sector spoke about how to promote actions for the digital transformation of education systems in developing countries, as well as the connectivity of the most vulnerable students. In this regard, Carlos Rueda (CEO of Escudo Web Software) stressed in his speech (which can be seen here) that “education is the pillar of any strategy that seeks to achieve equality and social development by the individuals who define this”. He also explained how the company has been working for the last 5 years to break the digital gap in the least developed countries of the world. The “Mobile Digital Classroom”, a sustainable and effective solution, has enabled students in more than 800 schools to access the same content as children in developed countries, despite there being no Internet or electricity available during classes.

The 25 organisations invited to participate in the event were:

Telefónica, Fundación Telefónica, ProFruturo, Hispasat, Fundación Orange, Fundación Vodafone, Microsoft, Ibérica, Escudo Web, Grupo Mondragón, McGraw Hill, OTBInnova, Planeta, Santillana, SM, Rubio, ISDI, Grupo-AE, Didactalia, Siemens-Gamesa.
